Five Ingredients of a Successful Week

Five ingredients of a successful week….

1.  Bible Study

I started my study of Ephesians this week.  The boys got up early on Monday morning, so this was my view as I studied.  You can join me in my Journey Through Ephesians.  I created a frequently used word list that you can download too.

2.  Towers and other Masterpieces

There were lots of building projects yesterday.  Check out that tower!

And don’t forget all the things you can make with triangles.

The master builder presents his creation.

3.  Cuddles with Mommy

Cuddles on the couch…

And when Daddy is out late working, insist that you must cuddle and sleep in Mommy’s bed.

4.  Read Great Books

We finished reading the last of the 4 A. A. Milne books this afternoon.  I didn’t think Jonathan would care of the last two since they are poetry, but he really enjoyed them.  Is there anything better than great read-alouds?

5.  Do Something Crazy

No picture to share for this one, but I’m stepping out and doing something crazy.  I’m announcing it so I have to finish it – how about that for accountability?

I’ve been writing a book about a depression based on my 31 Days to Finding Joy in Depression series.  This is way out of my comfort zone, but God is calling me to share my story for three different types of people: those who are hiding from their depression, those who are trying to manage their depression, and those who want to understand and support a loved one with depression.  My target release is the middle of March.  I’m close to finishing my manuscript and about it to my proofer/editor friend Lisa who just launched her business, For the Love of Words.

Watch for more details coming soon!

What made your week successful?

Sounds like you had a better week :)  I LOVE that you made a frequently used word list for Ephesians!  What a great idea–there are often those words that I get hung up on when I read the Bible and have to think a little harder to figure out what is being said!  I love the idea of a list to help with that!

I am so excited about your book!  I struggle with anxiety, as I have shared with you and sometimes depression and anxiety go hand in hand, although i wouldn’t say I necessarily know the depths of depression if that makes sense.  But I do have a really good friend for over 20 years who struggles with depression. I care for this person and would love to understand how to be there for them.

    Thanks again for linking up!!

No, I am not reading Ephesians right now, but I do love the idea of a frequently used word list :)

Wonderful recipe! We’ll have to try it for sure! I’ll have to send you my first ebook- God is funny like that, I never write to “girls” always about boys or nature, or to mommy’s – I went to write an article for DIVA girls and it came out a book! She’ll be giving it away for free with subscription to site- It wasn’t easy for me to let go of my ideas- but this one really is His. I think yours sounds perfect. So many need to hear the message! I don’t have “depression” but because of constant pain – I have to fight through similar struggles- I’ll read it for sure and always support my girls :) we all need each other. Isn’t Ephesians awesome? loving it- and thanks for the reminder about the building blocks- I need to find ours!!! :) hugs

Coming to visit from “Thankful Thursday.”  :-)   What beautiful photos!  I think the spontaneous hugs, cuddles and read-aloud time are some of the greatest blessings of homeschooling.

I will pray for the success of your book.  How wonderful that you are reaching out to want to help others overcome such a struggle.  I have loved ones who have suffered from depression.  I will be interested in reading your final product!

    Many blessings!
    Lisa
