This is day 25 of 31 Days of Finding Joy in Depression. Yesterday, I shared about grief and depression. Today, I'm talking about chocolate and depression.
There are conflicting reports and studies on chocolate, but one things seems to be a constant: dark chocolate is actually good for you and your depression.
I think there's a couple of reasons. Allowing yourself to indulge in moderation is good. Plus, dark chocolate has antioxidants and things that help with releasing serotonin which is part of the chemical issue of depression.
Here's the thing: remember our discussion on diet and depression? Sugar will be your downfall. Literally. You will rise and the crash if you binge on the sugar. Allow yourself to indulge {not binge} in moderation but choose high quality dark chocolate with as little sugar as possible.
How does chocolate affect your depression?

I'm linking up with The Nester and others who are writing 31 posts this month on various topics. I'm not a doctor or a counselor and this is not intended to be medical advice. This is simply the story of my experience with depression.
