Chapter 3: Intimacy
… “intimacy means togetherness, fellowship, and communion, as well as sharing a set of values and goals.” pg. 46
Zan talks about intimacy being at the center of our community. Our community starts first with our family.
Intimacy is particularly important to me now, because according to NC public school dates, I should be sending Jonathan off to kindergarten this year. We started homeschooling when Jonathan was only 3. We've spent the last 2+ years together really getting to know each other and building an incredible intimacy and community here at home.
I just cannot imagine sending him off to school. Jacob and I would miss him too much! Plus, Jonathan would miss out on so much of the time with us. This is what homeschool is about: being together and cultivating this intimacy as a family.
