Homeschooling is tough. It's wonderful and incredibly rewarding, but it can be really tough at times. It can be so easy to get discouraged. Here are some tips to help you in your homeschooling journey…

4 Tips for Staying Encouraged While Homeschooling

  1. Stay in the Word
If you're not reading the Bible and taking care of your own spiritual life, you're going to find yourself even more discouraged. Because I deal with depression too, I can sink even lower and feel even more frustrated if I'm not caring for myself first.
  2. Communicate with Your Husband
Things get busy when you're trying to homeschool and care for your home/family. It's easy for our husbands to be pushed to the side and that's one of the worst things we could possibly let happen. Your spouse should be your greatly ally and encourager. Make sure to spend time with your spouse and let him know how things are going.
  3. Find Homeschooling Friends
Everyone needs close friends. Find some other moms who can understand what it's like to be a homeschool mom. Look at your local homeschool co-ops or support groups. Look in your church. Look online. Get together for coffee with these ladies. Form a Facebook group. Find ways to gather and support each other.
  4. Stop Comparing
Comparison will bring you down faster than almost anything else. Remember that your children, your family, and you are not like other homeschooling or non-homeschooling families. Even be careful with comparison in your own home. Each of your children is unique, has different gifts, and require different ways of being taught.
