Read: The Power of Forgiveness
In our home, children are allowed to say they're sorry if the result of their behavior was an accident.
Until reading this, I hadn't really thought about how to teach my boys the difference between an apology and forgiveness. I don't think I really practice the difference between the two.
The need for forgiveness occurs when one child (or one adult, for that matter) has deliberately sinned against another.
Often it's the simplest distinctions that have a profound affect on the way we understand the world.
I plan to start implementing this distinction in our discipline plan. In many cases, I firmly believe in introducing concepts before a child can fully comprehend them and allowing them to grow into the ideas.
I have asked my boys to forgive me when I've made a bad choice or wasn't in control of my attitude. It is important for me to model the things that I expect of them.
Pray: Honesty
Pray the scriptures about honesty over your sons.
