Grapevine Studies has released a really fun new resource: 2015 Biblical Calendar.
Matching up the Jewish Calendar
Grapevine Studies has taken the Biblical calendar and overlaid it on our Western/Gregorian calendar. You can see how each day matches up with the Jewish month and year. The moons are marked as well as feasts and festivals. Christian and Jewish historical events have also been marked with stick figures.
Stick Figure Through The Year
Now you can stick figure through the year with your kids in the same way that you have been stick figuring through the Bible. The Calendar Notes resource gives you all the details of the events on the calendar, including any corresponding references in Scripture for the event or date.
2015 Biblical Calendar
I'm using the PDF version of the calendar, but it's also available in a printed version shipped from Grapevine Studies. The Calendar Notes are also available as a PDF or in a physical print version.
I printed my calendar double-sided and bound it with my coil binding machine. You could use page protectors on the wall or in a binder. Or try putting the calendar in a nice frame and change the pages out each month.
I have hung our calendar on the wall in our house where my kids will regularly see it. I put it on the wall of our dining room turned homeschool / LEGO play area. Now, when we see a new stick figure on the calendar for the day, we can find the corresponding reference in the notes and read the passages in the Bible about the day or event. I keep my Grapevine Studies teacher guides in digital form on my iPad rather than spending the time or money to print them. You can read how I use worksheets and teacher guides on my iPad here. My iPad is stored in this same room and is easily accessible for studying our Biblical calendar.
I haven't seen any company make a resource quite like this. If you'd like to use this calendar with your kids, head over to Grapevine Studies to purchase your copy!
