“Gimmie. Gimmie. Gimmie.”
Maybe at your house it sounds more like this:
“I want… I want… I want…”
My response is often something like, “Can't you just be content?” But can my kids really be content? Have I taught them how to be content? Have I given them a Biblical foundation for being content?
Kim at Not Consumed has a new Bible Study to help parents do just that: give kids a biblical foundation for understanding contentment and banishing the gimmies. The study is simply titled A Content Heart.
A Content Heart is divided into 4 sections with a total of 22 lessons. Your kids will learn what contentment is as well as how to be content with themselves, in all circumstances, and with their things. They will look up Scripture, write Scripture, answer questions, draw, and take short personal quizzes.
This study walks your kids step by step through the topic of contentment and how to begin to apply it to their lives. Finding the verses and reading those in their own Bible helps your kids learn and retain Scripture related to contentment. The format is well laid out and visually engaging. Interacting with these 22 lessons will start a foundation for contentment in your kids that they can build upon the rest of their lives.
Like most of Kim's studies, you can choose from a Junior or Youth version. If your kids are ages 4-8, need more parental interaction, and better respond on paper with larger writing and drawing spaces, choose the Junior version. If your kids are age 8+, have better writing skills, and might do this study on their own, choose the Youth version. Both versions can be used together in a family study type environment with each age or ability group using the appropriate version. There's even a bundle of the two versions together to make it easier for families.
A Content Heart is available as a PDF download from Not Consumed. Choose from the Junior or Youth version, or get both in a bundle together. Don't wait to grab your copy because, to celebrate the launch, the study is half off through the end of the day on 11/16/15.
Disclosure: I was given a copy of A Content Heart to facilitate my review.
