Educating the Wholehearted Child Discussion Group Button

This week, Lauren from Serving From Home is leading the discussion on chapter 10.  Head on over to there summary and discussion of the chapter and then come back to link up your blog posts.

We made it an early priority to read the Bible to Jonathan.  We have a children's bible that has been read through more times than I can count.  Jonathan is now able to read that Bible for himself.  We also like audio Bibles – for a long time, Jonathan would choose to go to sleep listening to an audio Bible.  We're very thankful that Jonathan has made an early choice to be a Christ-follower.  Now, I've been talking to him about reading the Bible regularly on his own when he sees me reading in the mornings.  We've got a ways to go on that discussion.

Lauren mentioned some great resources for studying the Bible with your kids.  We love Apologia's Who is God? book.  We're using that along with the Bible and reading schedule in Sonlight Core A and Seeds Family Worship CDs for scripture memory.  I've been sharing our journey with teaching Bible, scripture memorization, character and worldview on Wednesdays.  You can join me by sharing your thoughts in the comments of those posts or by linking up a post of your own sharing ideas for teaching these topics.

In general, how do you disciple your children?  What works well for you?  What has not worked for your family?

Kids in the Word Wednesdays

Come back each Wednesday to share specific examples of how you're discipling your kids!
