A Street Story
Once upon a time, there was a fire engine and a fireman putting out a fire. Then the steamroller made the road flat. Then the van and the man were driving back home. The bulldozer was coming to push the dirt off the road. The excavator got to get dirt in a pile.
The End.
Jonathan wrote his first story this week. We used the picture of a street from the Usborne First Thousand Words book (a part of our Sonlight P 4/5 curriculum) as our story starter. He needed a few prompts along the way – What else do you see? What are they doing? And then what? – but otherwise he dictated this entire story to me. Not sure how the school bus illustration fits with the story, but he insisted that he needed to draw a school bus.
