This week we worked on track #2 from Seeds of Courage by Seeds Family Worship. This was the longest verse that Jonathan has attempted to memorize. It is actually two verses and I was fully prepared to work on it for two weeks. But, as usual, Jonathan blew me away and memorized the whole thing!
The following printables are all available for free from BibleStoryPrintables.com.
Jonathan was much more interested in the coloring sheets for this verse than in previous weeks. He and Daddy colored together one evening before bed.
I think his favorite activity was the mini book. He colored it, cut it apart, and put the verse in order over and over again. This was a great activity for his cutting and ordering skills. We don't get the scissors out very often right now because Jacob grabs everything. I was surprised to find that his coordination had improved despite not practicing for a while. He has struggled in the past with sequencing a story so this was good for learning to put words in the right order.
Finally, he taped the verse together in the right order. Check out those nice long pieces of tape.
His handwriting continues to improve each week. He wanted to stay up one night and have some extra time with Daddy. He begged and begged to do his copywork with Daddy. How can you deny the child the time to copy scripture even if it is past bedtime?
