We were given the opportunity to view sneak-preview of a movie coming to the theaters on October 21: Snowmen.
Here's a synopsis from the producers:
SNOWMEN is a humorous and heartfelt coming-of-age story about three unlikely heroes and the winter that changed their lives forever. After a surprising discovery in the snow catapults three small-town boys into the spotlight, the best friends hatch a plan to be remembered forever by setting a Guinness World Records® title. Along the way, the trio battles schoolyard bullies, unites their community and discovers that – while fame may be fleeting – true friendship lasts forever. The film stars Bobby Coleman (Last Song), Ray Liotta (Wild Hogs), Bobb'e J. Thompson (Role Models), Josh Flitter (Ace Ventura Jr) and Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future).

Please note: If you have a sensitive younger child, use discretion. Jonathan is 4.5 years old and is NOT a sensitive child in most respects when it comes to movies. A few minutes into the movie, I was afraid that I had made a mistake letting Jonathan watch the movie. The theme of death is strong from the very beginning, but he dealt with it well.
Surprisingly, one of the “scariest” parts of the movie near the beginning was his favorite – of the whole movie. {If I give you more detail, it will ruin the movie – sorry!}
After that, he loved seeing the snowmen that the kids build to try to get a world record. He's a big fan of snow, period.
Overall it was a cute family movie. One minute you're laughing and the next minute you're in tears. Themes of God and forgiveness run deep in the movie. It provides a great discussion starter for an in-depth conversation about God, death, family, forgiveness, friends, and more with your kids.
{We were given access to an online sneak preview of this movie in hopes that we would spread the word about the movie. No other compensation was received.}
