Review Boot Camp 9-12

Are you prepared for your boys to reach the 9-12 age range? Do you have one (or more) in that range now and worry that you will have pulled all your hair out by the time you emerge from the battle? That is if you survive…

Boot Camp 9-12

I love listening to and learning from Hal and Melanie Young from Raising Real Men. Melanie invited me to join their Boot Camp 9-12 and share my thoughts with you. We're one week in and it's fabulous!

Live Format

The format is simple. One session a week for five weeks. Each Tuesday night, you log into your account in the classroom system and join the group for a live video and slide presentation from Hal and Melanie. There's also a chat going on with the rest of the participants and you can ask private questions of Hal and Melanie.

Watch It Later

If the class time doesn't work for you, it's recorded and you can watch it later. Usually a day or two after the class, the recording will be available in the classroom system.

Our Thoughts on Boot Camp 9-12

Boot Camp 9-12 Date Night

Our oldest is only six years old (almost 7), but time seems to be flying by so quickly. Seems like Jonathan was just a tiny baby like Josiah is now! We want to be prepared for when Jonathan (and the other boys) reaches these important transition years. Who better to learn from than Hal and Melanie? I knew that Hal and Melanie would share incredible wisdom from God and their experiences in raising six boys. Yup, six boys.

We were unable to get the boys settled in time to make the live class this week. We made plans instead to watch when the recording was made available. Wednesday night after we got the big boys down for bed, Josh and I settled in for a mini date night.

I made a quick batch of cookies and well as a cup of tea for me and coffee for Josh. We settled into our bed with our dessert and our iPad to watch the recording on the classroom system's iOS app. We had Josiah with us too, but you do what you have to do when you have a baby in the house.

The information on raising boys is wonderful, but honestly, feeling like you're sitting in Hal and Melanie's living room with them sharing their heart is what really makes Boot Camp 9-12 incredible. They share their struggles candidly, but they share the hope that we can make it through these years even more freely. Plus, there's open Q&A time at the end of each session. You get to pick Hal and Melanie's brains for tips on your unique situation.

Join Boot Camp 9-12

It's not too late! You can still join in on this session of Boot Camp 9-12. The next live session is Tuesday, October 29 at 8pm Eastern. You can watch the recording of the first session and be ready to join the rest of the class for session two. If the class time doesn't work for you or you want to go back and watch a session again, the recording are there for you. If your spouse is away for some reason, Melanie can create a second login so your spouse can join you from wherever he or she is. And single parents, Boot Camp 9-12 is a great place to get inspiration for dealing with those crazy boys on your own.

Go to Raising Real Men's Boot Camp 9-12 to register for this session or join their mailing list to be informed of a future session. There are options to add the Raising Real Men book in various formats to your Boot Camp 9-12 purchase at a discount.

Material Disclosure: We were given a free registration for Boot Camp 9-12 in exchange for an honest review.
