I love the Bible. I love music. And the two go together beautifully.
A few years ago, I learned about Seeds Family Worship. We have a couple of their CDs and my boys love them. This is a big deal in our house because as much as I love music, my boys don't like having music playing, even in the background. But a Seeds CD? They will let me play those all day long.
Seeds Family Worship recently contacted me and asked if I'd be interested in listening to their latest release and sharing my thoughts. Let me think a moment… Yes!
The Word of God
I was so excited the day that The Word of God CD arrived in our mailbox from Seeds. I decided to save the unveiling of the CD until our coming road trip. Seven hours in the van to go visit Grandma and Grandpa calls for special surprises. This would be perfect! Learning the Word of God while entertaining the boys on a 7-hour road trip? Win! Win!
Let me say, The Word of God is now my favorite of our Seeds CDs.
Here's a video of the title track, The Word of God:

Like all of their releases, the songs are based on Scripture. Word for word Scripture. It's awesome. But this one, it's the least “kid-sounding” I've heard from Seeds. Don't get me wrong, I love all of their CDs and songs, but some of the songs do have a younger kid sound to them. If you've listened to Seeds before and your kids have been turned off by that sound, you need to try The Word of God. It has a more mature sound. The songs are memorable but not annoying like a lot of kids worship music.
We practically wore our copy of The Word of God out on that 14+ hour round-trip to visit the grandparents and it has continued to get regular play in our home since then. Like I said: It's my favorite Seeds CD so far. Can't wait to hear what they come up with next!
