Am I late to the game?
I heard about Ticonderoga pencils in the last month or so through the Sonlight forums (this is the base curriculum that I've been using for Jonathan; the forums are a message board area for those using the Sonlight curriculum). I'm reading all these posts from moms raving about these pencils. I'm thinking, pencils are pencils, “write”? 🙂
I happened upon these “special” pencils while at Staples about a week ago. They had a package of preschool sized pencils – full-sized pencils, but larger in diameter for little hands. They were only a couple of dollars, so I thought, why not try them? I gave one to Jonathan when we got home and was shocked to see an immediate improvement in his handwriting. He didn't have to press down so hard when writing. Then I tried one myself. It was like writing with butter. So smooth. And they sharpen evenly and cleanly. I was amazed.
I have a small addiction and infatuation with school supplies as it is, but I'm seriously hooked on these pencils. What's even better is that Staples has a coupon this week on them; they are selling 12 count boxes for $1. I'm stocking up!
