In March, I’m headed to Atlanta for an Apologia Live Retreat. I’ve been seriously giddy about attending this event and meeting some of my blog and twitter friends for a weekend of refreshment.

Kids in the Word Wednesday – Using Our Scripture Memory Box
Kids in the Word Wednesday: Last week I made our new scripture memory box. Did you see the tutorial and the free printable? Our little index card box now lives on our kitchen table and we crack it open at breakfast and dinner. Jonathan is having a lot of fun reviewing the verses we learned last Fall. Daddy is really getting into it too.
Rachael Carman on Chapter 1 of HEART
Rachael Carman shares on chapter 1 of HEART: I believe the best news in this chapter is that God doesn’t leave me alone in my mothering. He wants to walk with me through each day so that we can face it together! Having time with Him in the morning before the craziness ensues helps me focus on Him and reminds me that He is there, that I’m not alone.
Grace for the Good Girl – Chapter 18 and Final Thoughts
I’m safe, even when I don’t feel safe. I love this verse that Emily points out. God is all around me. He’s in control. He’s keeping me safe; even when I don’t feel safe.
Journey Through Ephesians – Frequently Used Word List
I like seeing a list of frequently used words and marking up my Bible when I study. I used Logos Bible Software to do some searches on the Greek text, find the corresponding Strong’s numbers, and English translations.
Did I lose you? Don’t run!
All that comes out to this: A free printable for you that lists frequently used words in Ephesians. Use it alone to mark up your Bible or use in conjunction with a concordance for your preferred translation that uses Strong’s numbers. {I’ve included the Greek root as well for those who might want it.}
How to Have a H.E.A.R.T. for Your Kids – Chapter 1
Thoughts and reflections on chapter 1 of How to Have a H.E.A.R.T. For Your Kids: Moms, we need to be responders, not reactors. What’s the difference? A reactor acts in reaction to the the situations around them. If the surrounding environment is screaming and chaos, the reactor acts with the same – screaming and adds to the chaos. Responders act from within. They pour out what’s inside them to add peace and calm to a situation. It’s about being intentional and that starts with taking care of mom and our relationship with God.
Four Things to Remember When Teaching an Early Reader
When my son Jonathan was about three and a half, he started showing an interest in reading. He knew all his letters and most of their sounds. He would flip through books and “read” the ones he’d memorized or make up the story for those he didn’t know. And then, he started asking to learn to read.

2:1 Conference
The 2:1 Conference looks like an amazing conference for bloggers and homeschoolers. God has been calling me to take my blog to the next level as a ministry and as a way to support my family’s goal of becoming debt free. I’d love to go to go to this conference. And it’s in DC –…
