My Experience with Essential Oils
I started using essential oils a few years ago. Honestly, I was skeptical at first. I've grown up in a world where pharmaceuticals are touted as cures and nothing else can carry that claim. If it's “natural”, it probably isn't as effective. Natural is some how lesser and not as advanced.
After battling with polycystic ovary syndrome or PCOS and it's symptoms as well as depression for many years, I figured that there had to be something better out there than what the western medical community had given me. I started by cutting out toxic chemicals from our cleaning and personal care products. That made a huge improvement in how I felt on a daily basis, but I knew there had to be more. In that quest for more, I was introduced to therapeutic grade essential oils.
Like I said, I was skeptical. Could oils really make a difference in how I feel? Could they boost my immune system? Could essential oils help my body deal with the symptoms of disease and sickness?
I found how that they can. I've written about my experiences in a few posts over the years:

I have a little spiral-bound reference book filled with recommendations for which oils to use for what ailment. It's called Quick Reference Guide for Using Essential Oils 12th Edition 2010. This is also known as the Higley Guide. It's a great book, but it's overwhelming for a beginner.
